Before recent anti-retroviral drugs were developed, people died of AIDS. And, ...
After the development of these anti-retroviral drugs, ... PEOPLE STILL DIE OF AIDS.
Despite advancements made in the treatment and prevention of HIV, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have reported that the overall rate of HIV infection continues to increase, and deaths due to AIDS-related complications still impact this nation. The fight against AIDS is far from over, and I am asking you to join me in making a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS.
AIDS Walk Los Angeles is our community taking action against the AIDS epidemic. AIDS Walk Los Angeles is a 10-kilometer (6.21-mile) fundraising walk benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and other Los-Angeles-based AIDS service organizations. APLA and its community partners provide essential food, counseling, job placement, medical care, dental care, safe housing, and much more for thousands of Los Angeles residents living with HIV and AIDS. She was the first African-American woman to dance on the Ed Sullivan Show. By that time, as a dancer who also studied singing and acting, she was already a Broadway success-story, and her resume included musical hits like "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" and collaborations with artistic partners like Alvin Ailey, founder of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Either in her New York dancing career or in her Los Angeles acting career, she was truly a brilliant light of gentleness to those who were blessed to have known her. Wherever she went, her genuine smile and laughter filled the entire place with sincere joy. She was the dearest friend to many, a confidant to many more, and a compassionate soul to still so many more. But to me, she will always be Mom. I was not only blessed by having her bring me into this world and raise me, but I was also blessed to have had her as a truly and profoundly dear friend. And every time I found myself in a less-than-peaceful place in my life, her sincere prayers, words of comfort, and gestures of kindness always helped me to find my way back to GOD'S LOVING PEACE. Hers was an example of hope in action. Hers was a truly healing spirit who always taught me how to see the best in others, never the worst. Her examples of gentleness and compassion always remind me of the beauty and goodness that can shine so brightly from within us all. And in her humble kindheartedness, she was the most graceful soul I have ever known.
President Abraham Lincoln's face is turned in a direction opposite to that of the other Presidents'.
President Lincoln's coin is the lowest denominator of all the coins, only one cent.
While everyone else's coin is minted with a bright silver finish, President Lincoln's coin is minted with a darker copper finish, with copper considered an inferior metal.
And, ultimately, President Lincoln was the only President of the United States WHO FREED THE NEGRO SLAVES.
The fact that these coins have still been minted in this format, even in more recent years, is proof that the United States was never sorry for Slavery, only sorry that Slavery was ended.
(And if you think that Barack Obama's Presidency is an end to racism against African-Americans, think again. President Obama is NOT classically African-American because he is NOT a descendant of Black Slaves. His father, Barack Obama Sr., is a free-born African man from Nyang'oma Kogelo, Kenya, and his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, is a Caucasian woman of mostly English ancestry. Neither of his parents have American Black Slavery in their blood. It is quite self-evident that the United States Government, still covertly sympathetic to Slavery after all these decades, will NEVER allow a descendant of Black Slaves to become President.)
The Body of Christ Jesus is moved to totally subdue all untold darkness.
In the name of Jesus, we move to subdue all spirits of cruel confusion.
By the Power of God, we successfully subdue and defeat all spirits of
detestable darkness. In the Name of Jesus, we are moved to successfully defeat
all spirits of decadent overpopulation and confusion. In the Name of Jesus,
we move to subdue and defeat all spirits of beastly, desperate darkness.
As the Body of Christ Jesus, we are moved to subdue the curse's confusion.
The capable Body of Christ Jesus must move to bring successful peace.
In the Name of Jesus, we are moved to bring uncommon successful hope.
In the Name of Jesus, we must heal the blind land with words and deeds
of consummate peace. By the power of God, we must ceaselessly heal
the vision of the people with boundless, ageless, successful hope.
We must be responsible, unshakable spiritual agents of dauntless faith
and boundless peace. At all times, we must always know that sublime faith
is the substance of all hope.
By surest faith, we successfully subdue and defeat all corrupt darkness.
By faith, we subdue all demons of banal overpopulation and confusion.
By constant, dauntless faith, we successfully cast out all nasty,
destructive spirits of darkness. By dauntless faith in Christ Jesus,
we successfully cast out all celestial powers of senseless congestion
and confusion. By boundless faith in God, we successfully cast out all the demons
of violence and darkness. By marvelous faith, we cast out all demons
of congestion and confusion.
Our Lord Jesus is the unspeakably steadfast source of all durable peace.
The Blessed, Exalted Word of God is the boundless pattern of all hope.
We are moved to cast out all spirits of confusion that audaciously oppose
God's Peace. Jesus Christ, the Steadfast Word of God, moves us to cast out
all detestable spirits and replace them with potent hope. All celestial agents of
overpopulation and confusion have been cast out by God's Peace. Our Lord Jesus,
Boundless Eternal Love, is our noblest wondrous hope.
I have been writing and composing since 1982, beginning within my High School years. Although I have studied and performed classical vocals, piano, and some guitar, I also hold a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science and work with MIDI-compatible musical equipment. In addition, I have also performed Spoken Word Poetry in various Los Angeles venues from 1996 onward.
